Call for CWA Mentors: CyberEd in a Box Receive a $2,000 Stipend

We are looking for seven enthusiastic mentors to take part in a CWA 12-week The Threat Within and NIST Framework Project that is scheduled to begin on April 13. Mentors will be working with a team of six students and are also asked to work with one student individually for one hour per week. Mentors can review the students' resumes and select a student who is a good "fit."

During these individual sessions, mentors will counsel the student. If the student demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and competencies to excel in a cyber job role, the mentor and/or the company that employs the mentor is asked to offer a job to the student or refer them to another company/employer for hiring consideration.

CyberEd in a Box is funded under a National Centers for Academic Excellence in Cyber (NCAE-C) Careers Preparation National Center (CPN) grant.

The State of Connecticut CISO’s Office, iQ4, and SDG Corporation Launch the First Statewide CWA Strategic Initiative to Discover, Engage, Develop, and Retain Great Talent in the State

iQ4 Corporation has partnered with the State of Connecticut and SDG Corporation on a ground-breaking program called the Connecticut CyberHub (C-HUB), to take a student's skills and abilities and provide opportunities for employment.

There is a screening process conducted by employers to select Connecticut college students for each project. Students will have the opportunity to work with employer subject matter experts. The employers can offer students an internship or a full-time job upon completion of the project.

The C-HUB is an ecosystem that connects Connecticut college students with employers through a battery of iQ4 internship projects, that include employer subject matter expert mentors/coaches, and are run 100% online in the evening.

The projects lead to an industry-recognized credential, macro-credential, the equivalent of up to 350 hours of related workforce training, career pathways, and job opportunities to work for great employers in the State of Connecticut. You can read Governor Ned Lamont’s announcement, here.
